Stargazing at Lost Canyon
The Castle Rock Parks and Trails Foundation offers this stargazing experience with the help of the Denver Astronomical Society, weather permitting. This special event is offered free of charge, but a $20 donation per person is suggested so that we may offer more programs to our community at Lost Canyon. Please bring cash to the event or use your registration to give online.
Join us at dusk on August 14th, in a dark corner of Castle Rock to observe the night sky just after the New Moon.
Children ages 10+ are welcome with adult companion.
August 14th 8-10pm
If you need to learn how to use your new telescope, come 30 min early, bring it with you, and ask our members for assistance as they set up before dark. Don’t have your own telescope yet? No problem! Join members of the DAS on the lawn to view the night sky’s gems through various members’ telescopes.
You will receive a detailed email 3 days before the event with a weather update and more details. In general, plan to wear rugged shoes, bring a blanket to sit on, and a red-light flashlight. We'll have hot cocoa and a treat to share!
